About the client
Hakea Swim is an Australian swimwear label making sleek, minimal pieces designed for the surf.
They sell direct through their own online store to women in Australia and the US who want swimwear that performs in the water as well as it looks on the beach. With every sale happening online, Hakea needed a partner who could make paid media pay its way.
The brief
Grow online sales profitably, season after season.
Swimwear is seasonal and crowded, with most sales landing in a few months of the year. Hakea needed new shoppers discovering each collection, past visitors coming back to buy, and sale periods that made the most of peak season, without letting the cost of each sale climb.
The strategy
We built an always-on structure on Meta that kept finding new customers separate from converting warm ones, while Google Shopping and Performance Max put Hakea's products in front of people already searching for swimwear. Collection launches and sales ran as their own campaigns, so budget could follow demand through the year.
Launch every collection
Dedicated launch campaigns for ranges like Mirador and Terrain introduced each collection to new audiences in Australia and the US, building a bigger pool of shoppers to bring back later.
Remarketing that converts
Australian remarketing became the engine of the account, driving 246 sales at $4.53 back for every dollar spent. The same approach in the US returned 5.7x.
Built for peak moments
Black Friday, mid-year subscriber sales and end-of-season sales each ran as short, focused bursts on Meta. The 2025 Mid Year Subscriber Sale returned 13.9x and Black Friday 2025 returned 6.8x.
Search-ready on Google
Google Shopping and Performance Max put Hakea’s full range in front of people already searching for swimwear, returning 5.6x through peak season 2023.
Campaigns were monitored and optimised continually, with creative refreshed from each new shoot and budget moved towards the audiences and products selling best.
